Salt is used in dyeing cotton and linen fabrics – acting as a raw and auxiliary material - but also resulting in salty wastewater streams.

It also creates a highly polluted ‘brine’ – that can have serious environmental and ecological impacts.

Brine discharges effect inland receiving water bodies such as lakes and rivers

and may cause salinization of the soil – one of the most severe environmental problems in agriculture.

The plant can treat 300 L/hr of Reverse Osmosis retentate discharged from wastewater treatment facilities of Zorlu Textile.

The process results in 50-60% recovery of NaCl for dyeing processes.

A 70-80% reusable pure water stream for process industries and the recovery of 400 tons/year of brine concentrate.
